Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) causes synthesis of 90% of pro-hormone tetraiodothyronine (T4) and 10% of active triiodothyronine (T3) from thyroid gland. T3 regulates energy metabolism, thermogenesis, body temperature and normal brain development.
